Sunday School Notes and Comments

In the Sunday school of one branch church much thought has been given to the care of the pupils who leave, especially those who enter the armed forces. The board of directors of this branch church has recommended that the books which are usually given by the church to those who are twenty years of age should be given to anyone entering the forces, regardless of age. Special efforts are made to be sure that they get in touch with the Christian Science Chaplain or the Wartime Minister in whose district they are placed.

That these young people value their understanding of Christian Science and are putting it into practice, there are many proofs. One young man made a point of buying a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy when he was home on leave, and another, who has experienced wonderful protection in the Air Force, writes as follows: "My little textbook is with me all day long, and as little spare time as we have I always manage to read it daily, and I am sure I receive the reward for doing so."

One of the most obvious needs of the world today is that of spiritual education. The demonstrable truth as revealed in Christian Science, when understood and rightly applied, will eventually bring about a righteous peace and harmony among nations; and it is through individual understanding that this can be demonstrated. When we remember this, we realize the paramount importance of the spiritual education in our Sunday school, and dedicate ourselves anew to its service.
