I am very grateful for the many wonderful blessings that have come to me since I started studying Christian Science in 1933.

I had been very ill for a number of years, and had tried almost everything medical science had to offer in the effort to regain my health, but nothing seemed to help me, and it was shortly after an operation for goiter that I decided to investigate Christian Science.

I borrowed "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy from a public library. I kept it three months, reading it for hours every day. I then purchased the book and have diligently studied it and the rest of our Leader's precious volumes, in connection with the Bible, ever since.

When I first began to study, my eyes were so bad that I could read only a little while at a time. In two weeks I was reading many hours a day. Also, when I started to study, I could be up only a few hours at a time, this condition being worse after the operation. This made me very unhappy, for I had a husband and two little children who needed me. A few years later I was able to open my home to tourists during the vacation season; I had many guests, and I did all the work myself, thus proving God to be my strength.

I had a wonderful healing of sciatic rheumatism, with the assistance of a practitioner. This was a remarkable proof, since I had had several attacks before turning to Christian Science. This healing has been permanent, and it is now six years since it took place. Later, the same practitioner stood by me during a serious ear trouble, and that too vanished after a few treatments. Our son of twelve years was healed of a severe fever in a few days, and our daughter of a bone felon. Both children were healed of scarlet fever in less than a week. The habit of drinking coffee and tea completely vanished when I realized that the desire was a suggestion of mortal mind.

My wish at the beginning of my study was to regain my health, but from the start I was benefited in many other ways as well. My constant prayer now is that I may continue as a worker in His vineyard, and see others helped as I have been. Truly, Christian Science is the "pearl of great price."
