"The city lieth foursquare"

In infinite divine consciousness each idea of God constantly abides. In this home the ideas emanating from divine Mind know no conflict, no absence of joy and harmony. From divine Mind comes all that is necessary to supply, sustain, and maintain His ideas with unceasing good, for spiritual good is indestructible.

Humanly speaking, each individual has to make his own entrance into this spiritual kingdom, and it is made only as thought ascends heavenward, there to embrace the good already his and to abide in the consciousness of Truth.

A student of Christian Science, who had lost the sweet relationship of home with all its tender, sheltering care and comforts, watched the annual holidays come and go with lack of joy. She found some comfort in thinking how others were brought together in happy family reunions, and that the laborer was given a needed rest, but her own heart seemed desolate. Having to give up a plan to spend the Christmas holidays with friends in another city, she was faced with the problem of overcoming loneliness. Then, as she sought refuge in Truth, quite suddenly she felt a great sense of peace, poise, and joy. During the days that followed as the holiday season advanced she remembered how Nehemiah, in the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, had to be steadfast in his allegiance to God, and watch, lest his work should be lost. So she too had to watch that suggestions of error were not allowed to intrude into her consciousness to spoil the good already attained. She needed to cherish the spiritual idea, the Christ, Truth, to keep it hidden from the Herod of mortal thinking that would destroy her spiritual peace.
