Every true Christian Scientist wishes to bear witness to the power of the Word as it has been operative in his own experience, to the end that others may be encouraged to seek and to find the practical way to peace, health, and happiness.

Christian Science has brought me the only real peace and happiness I have ever known. I was introduced to it many years before I was able to accept it wholeheartedly, but during this time of vacillation, at a moment of utter desperation, by reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was instantaneously healed of a condition of prolapse of the uterus, which had caused me four years and a half of great suffering. I did not understand what I was reading, nor was I ever afterward able to identify the passages I had read; but the peace which came to me that afternoon wiped out every vestige of mental turmoil and brought a sense of ineffable stillness, never to be forgotten. Recognition of the physical healing, however, came a week later, when I suddenly realized I had been doing things I had been unable to do for years, and without the slightest difficulty. This healing has been permanent.

In spite of this healing, rebellion and resentment towards what I believed might be its effect upon me were I to become an adherent of this religion, kept me from its study for several years, but when faced with what appeared to be an impasse in our affairs, I made my decision to trust wholly in God. The wisdom of this step was made abundantly clear in the rewards that it brought. Loyalty and obedience to Truth can never fail to bring healing, no matter what the circumstance.
