The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Battle Creek, Michigan (First Church).
Lecturer: Richard J. Davis; introduced by Clayton A. Iden, who said:—
It is recorded in the Gospels that when Jesus of Nazareth had nearly finished his earthly ministrations, he called together his twelve disciples and gave them power to cast out unclean spirits, to heal all manner of sickness, and to heal all manner of disease. This spiritual healing power was lost by the Christian church about three centuries after the crucifixion. But in the year 1866, it was again brought to light with the discovery of the divine Principle of scientific mental healing which Mary Baker Eddy gave to the world when she discovered and founded Christian Science.
