I had attended an orthodox Sunday...

I had attended an orthodox Sunday school and church all my life until I reached womanhood, but the questions that constantly confronted me were not answered to my satisfaction until Christian Science was presented to me.

I knew at once this was the truth I had been seeking. In Psalms we read, "Be still, and know that I am God." I had never previously experienced such a sense of peace from that verse, because my concept of God was not conducive to peace. I had believed Him to be a deity of whom one stood in awe and fear, not a God of love, to whom I could turn constantly, and who did not visit disease on His children, made in His image and likeness, as stated in the first chapter of Genesis.

Through the study and application of Christian Science I was healed of recurring headaches, chronic constipation, which drugs failed to relieve, and severe burns caused by the sun, as well as of many other errors.

One of the first statements that impressed me in reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, was in the chapter on "Prayer" (p. 14): "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well." This healed me.

Several years ago my husband was suffering from what the physicians diagnosed as a severe case of eczema. Well–known physicians and medical clinics were unable to help him, so he decided to try Christian Science, and he was completely healed through the help of a practitioner.

I am grateful for our periodicals, for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, also for the blessed privi lege of class instruction. I pray each day that I may grow in grace and serve God more and more.—(Mrs.) Emma Isabelle Clark, Chicago, Illinois.
