"Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only."

The acid test of Christianity is the test of living. Virtually every Christian teacher has his emphasis there. Micah, Amos, Isaiah, Hosea from the Old Testament. Then James with his "Faith without works is dead;" Paul with his strong, active verbs, "Hate the evil, cleave to the good;" Jesus declaring that lip service is only a mockery, and that a "tree is known by his fruit." Jesus went on to say that happiness and well-being depend not on knowledge alone, but on knowledge plus obedience: "If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them."
