It seems evident that an effort is being made in your district to discountenance Christian Science by the distribution of a very old and prejudiced pamphlet.

May I be permitted to point out just one question opened up by this pamphlet, which shows how tolerant we should be, and how careful to gain a writer's point of view before condemning his statements. On page 3 we are told God allows sickness because it is necessary. May we ask what right any Christian has to try to destroy or even mitigate what God allows and intends? Christ Jesus never intimated any necessity for sickness, and he is our Exemplar and the most successful healer the world has seen. And Christian Scientists follow humbly in his footsteps in their healing mission.
