In grateful acknowledgment to a loving God, to a gracious...
In grateful acknowledgment to a loving God, to a gracious Saviour, and to a beloved Leader, I wish to express my gratitude for many healings, and hope that my testimony may reach someone in need, as I was many years ago.
More than twenty-three years ago I was healed through Christian Science of the constant desire for alcoholic liquors. I had honestly tried to rid myself of the vicious habit, but always without success. After this healing I started to attend the church services, and I have never again had the desire for liquor. In my dental practice I had lost practically all my patients. I was obliged to start all over again, and for a long time I was unsuccessful. I then had the privilege of class instruction in Christian Science, and in about two weeks I became associated with another dentist. There immediately came to me such an abundance of supply that in two years' time I was able to start buying my own home, and I was able to give a good share to the church. I am also grateful for the overcoming of hatred, envy, unclean thoughts, a mixture of unjust criticism and condemnation, and of the tobacco habit of about forty years' standing.
I was injured in an automobile accident when a front tire blew out, and bones in my wrist were broken or dislocated. I had treatment by a Christian Science practitioner, and was able to continue my journey of over one hundred and fifty miles through the mountains of Pennsylvania. I arrived at my destination in good condition, with the exception of a greatly swollen wrist. I used the hand whenever necessary in a normal manner, and two weeks later drove our car home, driving from half past two in the morning until seven o'clock the same night. At another time I fell off the top of a stepladder. I was laid on a bed, for I was unable to move. A practitioner was called, and in two days I was able to go to the office, although my associate had said I could not return to work in less than two weeks. At another time I was awakened at night with terrible pains in the calves of my legs. I immediately clung to the truth that I was God's perfect child, and the pain started to ease in one leg, then the other, and presently disappeared.
