I read with genuine interest the article under the caption "Put the Church First," in a recent issue of your paper.

The quotation attributed to Mrs. Eddy—"Nothing can enter a closed fist"—is not in her writings. But in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says (p. 79), "Giving does not impoverish us in the service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us."
