It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I wish to tell of my first healing in Christian Science.

When a youth, I entertained much fear of the false law of heredity, and very soon I became afflicated with obstinate insomnia. After about two months I was run down and had to give up my work and go home to my parents, where, during the following year, my condition exhausted the skill of the physicians who attended me.

I went to a near-by city, intending to consult physicians of wide experience. With the help of relatives and friends I obtained employment, which kept me so busy every moment waiting on the public that I had no time to think of myself or of my condition, and much to my surprise I slept after the first day's work, although it seemed to me I had scarcely slept at all for over a year. This encouraged me, and since I continued to sleep I decided not to apply for medical treatment. during the next two years the insomnia disappeared, but my mental condition had not improved, so I applied for medical treatment. For over ten years I was under constant treatment, but there was no improvement. The last physician who attended me stated that he could do nothing more, and advised me to turn to Christian Science, stating he was sure it would help me.
