With gratitude for the numerous healings and countless blessings experienced during my study of Christian Science, and with the desire to help as I have been helped, I write this testimony.

About seven years ago I was confined to bed for five months with hemorrhages caused by an internal growth. Doctors said it was a tumor, for which an operation was necessary; otherwise fatal complications would arise. I was very fearful of an operation. At this time, my daughter presented me with a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and a Christian Science Quarterly, requesting that I read the Lesson-Sermons because she knew they would help me. I was happy to obey, for reading Science and Health in conjunction with the Bible, which had long been neglected, brought a sense of peace. Often during the night I would awaken and read for hours. One day I opened the Quarterly for a message, and this was the verse to which I opened: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." I was much uplifted, and repeated the verse many times each day. Through the help received in Christian Science an operation was proved unnecessary. Arrangements had been made for me to enter the hospital, but these were canceled. God has been my only physician ever since.

Although this healing was apparently slow, it came entirely through my reading of the textbooks, and through strict reliance upon our Father-Mother God.
