Intuition

The tendency of the human mind to submit to influences, conscious or unconscious, to form judgments and to make decisions, in subservience to materiality, is recorded in its history. "Ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" asked Jesus of the Pharisees.

Discernment of spiritual facts whereby men learn to govern their lives, overcoming evil and establishing good, is gained only by piercing through the material evidence, the conjectures, prophecies, and opinions which surround them, and waiting resolutely on God.

Man is spiritual. The Mind, infinite, ever present, that enlightens, preserves, directs him, is his Mind. If men do not recognize this fact, do not know what or how to think, it is not because wisdom ever ceases to function or make itself universally known; it is because they have either forgotten, are ignorant of, or indifferent to the fact that in every decision, passing or permanent, it is either material or spiritual sense which directs and influences them. The decision may in some instances appear to lie between two evils, but if, as the result of enlightenment and obedience, born of prayer, they choose the lesser, a victory has been won, their inner citadel has been strengthened.
