I did not know anything of Christian Science until about seven years ago, when a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was lent to my daughter. She brought it home over the week end for me to read.

Previous to this time I had undergone operations for tonsils, appendix, gallstones, tumors, cist; in fact, I was ill all the time, always going to the doctor and taking medicine. I had such a pain in my right side that I could not lie on it, and on account of my heart it seemed impossible for me to lie on my left side.

After my daughter had returned Science and Health, I borrowed a copy from the library and read it for a few weeks. One night I went to bed feeling very miserable; then the thought came to me that God, Mind, would heal me. I held to this thought until I went to sleep, When I awoke, my side was healed, and ever since I have been able to sleep on my right side.
