Joyous Singing

When the Christmas bells are ringing
All my being answers, singing!
Singing softly through the twilight,
Singing gladly of the Christ-light!
Singing for the wrongs forgotten;
Singing for the good begotten;
Singing with a cadence holy,
Singing with a spirit lowly!

Gone are gloom and fearful spaces,
Gone tenacious error's traces,
As the Christ-love keeps me singing
When the Christmas bells are ringing.

Love's eternal Christmas winging,
Makes eternal joyous singing.
