About twenty-five years ago the prospect of living a useful, normal life seemed to be out of the question, but "man's extremity is God's opportunity."

I grew up with the belief that I was not a normal person; that I was delicate, with insufficient strength. Many physicians had tried to help me since childhood. It was recommended that I should undergo an operation if I expected to escape chronic invalidism; but no operation was ever needed. My last illness was diagnosed as "nerves."

Some time after this I was asked to visit a neighbor, who talked to me all the afternoon about Christian Science, which was quite new to me. When I left her home she asked, "Well, are you going to make that auto trip with me tomorrow morning?" In the morning I called her and said, "Yes, I am going." The drive of about forty miles was made without the bad results which my family had predicted. In the evening I attended my first testimony meeting. When it was over I wondered what had happened to me, and, not long afterwards, I knew I had experienced an instantaneous healing through Christian Science. I am truly thankful for the help and healing which I have experienced since then.
