It is with deep gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy that I offer my testimony. During a period of forty years I have experienced many blessings. Some healings were quick, others required much earnest study and persistent effort. One morning I was suddenly seized with a chill. Soon I became unconscious, and remained so for six hours. My sister was called and gave me treatment at once. When I finally woke, it was with extreme pains in my head and back. By night an abscess had broken in my head, and in two days I was again able to go to work.
At another time a kettle exploded and the full charge of boiling water dashed over my face and head. I exclaimed aloud, "God is my Life." This occurred in my cabin in the mountains, and two of my sisters were with me. We immediately worked quietly to know the truth, and in two hours all pain ceased. In five days I was normal. No ill effects remained. Many other difficulties have had to be healed during all these years, including broken bones, a sprained ankle, and sickness, but I am happy to state Christian Science was my ever-present physician. It has also given me poise and moral strength, for I used to be very sensitive and resentful. In the loss of dear ones it has assuaged grief and sustained me with fortitude.
I am very thankful for all the periodicals, for membership in The Mother Church, for occasional help from practitioners, and for the sustaining help which the great work of Christian Science gives to our troubled world. That I may ever be a faithful disciple is my earnest prayer.
