The True Christmas

NOW when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to workship him." Thus Matthew gives the account of the nativity of Jesus.

Christian Science affords us true enlightenment, lifting thought above the material to the spiritual sense of things. The definition of "Elias," given by Mary Baker Eddy on page 585 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," reads: "Prophecy; spiritual evidence opposed to material sense; Christian Science, with which can be discerned the spiritual fact of whatever the material senses behold; the basis of immortality." Through the lens of Christian Science, then, we may behold the eternal abiding presence of Truth in our hearts and in our lives.

The light of spiritual understanding which comes to the student of this Science leads him steadily and surely to the spiritual realm wherein he beholds only "the spiritual fact of whatever the material senses behold." Thus is Truth made practical in his experience.
