A few years ago I had what would be termed a double fracture of the ankle. The foot was twisted out of shape and a bone showed through the skin. I had absent treatment from a Christian Science practitioner that evening and slept through the night without pain, and in the morning the foot and leg, though much swollen, were entirely straight, and the bone had gone back into place. Christian Science treatment was continued, and although during the following summer it seemed necessary for me to be on my feet more than I had been for years, that leg gave me no trouble whatever, and today it is as strong as the other. For the faithful and patient work of the practitioner I can never be too grateful.
A severe case of ivy poisoning was healed in three days by the work of the same practitioner. I have been healed of influenza, colds, bilious attacks, recurring attacks of neuritis, and many other discords, sometimes with the help of Christian Science practitioners or friends, and sometimes through realizing the truth for myself. Ptomaine poisoning was healed instantaneously when resentment in my thought was uncovered and overcome. For these healings and for all the healing activities of the Christian Science movement throughout the world I am grateful. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for class instruction. Most of all, I am grateful for a satisfying religion in which there is opportunity for continuous progress out of material beliefs into spiritual understanding.
What a debt of gratitude we owe to our inspired Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for giving us in Christian Science a practical understanding of the teachings and works of Christ Jesus!—(Miss) Ruby Porter, Larchmont, New York.
