Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, writes in Science and Health (p. 454), "Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action." My motives for giving this testimony are gratitude for healing and a desire to help anyone having a similar experience—to encourage him to go forward and seek Truth until he has gained a complete healing.

A few years ago I was confronted with a physical problem which seemed so great and serious that there was much fear. I realized I should need help to overcome this problem. Error argued, How can I pay for a large number of treatments at this time, if my healing comes slowly? In overcoming this argument, I turned to divine Love alone. I did not know how, where, or when the supply would come, but I knew that somehow Love would show the way, for I had no desire to withhold a right remuneration from the practitioner. Paul said, "If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?"

When I went to see the practitioner I first asked for a treatment to overcome my fear, in order that I could talk to her calmly and explain to her my problem. She gave me one, and then reassured me that divine Love's arms were round about me and that I had nothing to fear, also saying (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
