When I stop to think of the many blessings I have received since Christian Science came into our home when I was a small child, my heart overflows with gratitude.

The first blessing was the healing of my mother in less than three weeks by a loving Christian Science practitioner, when my mother had been given up by the doctors attending her. The protection I had in school and college life is a source of much gratitude. Through relying on God, and putting first things first by studying the entire Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly the first thing every morning, I have been helped in my profession by Christian Science, and my classes have continued throughout the so-called lean years.

My mother and I were beautifully protected in an automobile accident several years ago. We were helped by declaring in the words of the Psalm, "The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." A friend's car, in which we were riding, ran off a steep embankment, and landed upside down, so that we had to be assisted in getting out. We were all wonderfully protected, not a piece of glass in the car being broken. After the car was righted and refilled with oil, I was calm and strengthened by Truth, so that I drove the car home, a distance of over twenty miles. After reaching home, my mother and I walked quite a few blocks to call on a friend, who never knew we had just been through such an experience, for, of course, neither of us mentioned the incident.
