Some years ago I went to visit a twin sister, whom I had not seen for some time. She told me that she had been healed of hemorrhage of the lungs by reading Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. I decided that, if she could be healed so wonderfully, I could be healed of constipation, which had troubled me for years. One night, when I was ill, I picked up Science and Health, after destroying the medicine I had depended upon for the past twenty years, and began to read the chapter on Prayer. I read on till nearly morning, when I realized I was completely healed. I was very grateful for this quick healing, and I have never tasted medicine from that day.

I also had a wonderful healing of ptomaine poisoning about six years ago. My sister and I had planned a day's drive of about two hundred miles, and I was to drive the car. On awakening that morning I felt quite sick, but determined to go on; and after studying the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, we left. I continued to feel ill, but said nothing to my sister, for I did not want to alarm her. On arriving at Palm Springs, about eighty miles from home, I felt I could go no farther, and asked my sister to call a practitioner in Los Angeles. I could barely sit up; I just managed to ask the practitioner to help me. She lovingly said to me, "Just be quiet and let me do some work now." In about fifteen minutes the pain all left me, and I was able to get up. I was completely healed. We had a hearty dinner, the first food I had taken that day, and continued our trip and enjoyed all of it.

Words cannot express my gratitude for these loving and faithful practitioners, who are so ready and willing to help. I am grateful for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this wonderful truth, and for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
