My gratitude for Christian Science and for its Discoverer...

My gratitude for Christian Science and for its Discoverer and Founder is indeed sincere. I am grateful for the realization that the messenger and the message cannot be separated. Mrs. Eddy's life and works have proved to be a continuous source of inspiration to me.

For many years Christian Science has met my needs and those of my family. It law of abundance and progress has been demonstrated in our experience in proportion to the receptivity of our thought. Physical healings have been many, including that of a severe case of hay fever, and an instantaneous healing of a nasal hemorrhage, when the life of our son seemed to be threatened.

Shortly after my marriage, while I was on a camping trip, my finger became infected through what was believed to be an insect bite. The pain and swelling increased, so I sought the help of a physician, who lanced the finger. The condition, however, became worse instead of better, the pain being almost unbearable, and I was told that if the infection continued to spread, amputation of the finger would be necessary. My husband, who had been studying Christian Science for several years previous to this, following the healing of a member of his family through Science Health by Mrs. Eddy, recommended that I have help in Christian Science. I had been brought up in an atmosphere of antagonism to Christian Science, and felt a sense of opposition to what I believed its teachings to be. However, "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and I called on a practitioner for help. This was lovingly given, and in a very short time all evidences of the poisoning had disappeared, and a complete healing was manifested. Needless to say, I am most grateful for this experience, which led me to the study of Christian Science.
