About fifteen years ago I began the study of Christian Science. I shall always remember an article which I read in the Sentinel at that time, explaining the meaning of the familiar words of Christ Jesus in Matthew, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." After reading it over many times, I realized that the kingdom of God is gained by learning to reflect His qualities, by expressing lovingkindness toward my fellow men. I decided to try to prove this statement by finding out if the added blessings would really follow. And in time they did.

There were many problems to be overcome at first: fear of the future and lack of money, for there was a young daughter to support. I had to realize that God was my Father, and that He would take care of us both. As time went on, I learned to look entirely to divine Principle for my supply.

Through the faithful study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we have had many beautiful healings in our home, including those of tonsillitis, measles, chicken pox, and an upset stomach. The birth of a son, as well as of a daughter, was very harmonious, due to Christian Science. My eldest daughter had two open wounds, which were healed in less than a week's time.
