A Christian Science Treatment

THE question is frequently asked of the practitioner, " What is a Christian Science treatment?" No higher source can be given for an answer to this question than the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Study of these two books reveals the method of a Christian Science treatment, by which one gains a measure of spiritual understanding of God, man, and man's relationship to God.

The Scriptures contain the revealed Word of God. The healings recorded therein including the teachings and healings of Christ Jesus, are explained and elucidated by Christian Science. The spiritual truths set forth in Science and Health are fundamental, and may be proved by any sincere student of Christian Science.

In considering the healings wrought by Jesus, we see that they were accomplished by prayer, which changed thought from material beliefs to the truth of man's real, spiritual being. It was not, however, an importuning of God to heal or forgive; rather was it the clear, calm, convincing realization of the presence and power of God. This healed every phase of inharmony.
