"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift."
"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." This is the way I feel every day in regard to Christian Science. I became interested in it, not for physical healing, but because I was unhappy and nothing satisfied me. The many churches I had attended had not given me any practical understanding of God. I soon found in Christian Science something I could demonstrate, and the more I study the more I want to, for the subject is inexhaustible.
My gratitude is unbounded for the help it has been, and is, to me in bringing up a young family who had this Science all their lives and can now study daily for themselves. I feel I have given them the greatest thing any mother could give her children, by training them, to the best of my ability, in Christian Science. They have never been given a dose of material medicine of any kind, but all their troubles have been overcome by Science. Some of these were measles, whooping cough, blood poisoning, rupture, cuts, and burns. Christian Science has also been to us all a great protection from accident. Nearly all these things have been accomplished through study of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, though I do thank God for the consecrated practitioners, who are always willing and ready to help us.
An outstanding proof of what Christian Science can do for us if we will only keep on faithfully in our study, is the strenghtening and building up of my daughter, who is now thirteen years of age, and was recently junior athletics champion in the high school she attends. She had been a pale, delicate-looking child from birth and many people said that if I reared her it would be very wonderful. The doctors who examined her at school shook their heads and said she should have special foods, though they could not find anything wrong with her. But I just kept on, and the only thing she has had to help her is Christian Science.
