A correspondent, "Enquirer," asks how is it that "Christian Science teaches there is no real sin, yet Jesus died for the sins of the whole world," and questions, "Would he have done so if sin had not been real?"

Christian Science accepts the Scriptural declaration that "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good;" also, that He "created man in his own image." Sin is not to be found in God's creation, and Christian Science teaches that only God's creation is real and true.

Jesus' teachings about God and man enraged the priests and Pharisees, and their hatred, envy, malice, and vengeance caused him eventually to be crucified. The triumph of his resurrection proved to mankind that evil and matter, with their supposed laws, are not the arbiters of life, but that God, Spirit, who is also infinite Love, is supreme.
