The Committee is happy to report continuous progress...

The Committee is happy to report continuous progress during the current year, and also to advise that both the city and the federal officials have voluntarily co-operated with us upon many occasions. The authorities at the United States Disciplinary Barracks, located on Governors Island, have invited us to send in workers during the week so that the men will have more opportunities of being helped through Christian Science than at present. Services are held there every Sunday. In addition, we have been asked by them to point out ways in which they can co-operate with us in broadening and increasing our activities. They express their thanks for what we are doing for the inmates.

The reports received from the various workers serving in different institutions inform us that the Christian Science Thanksgiving Day services were happy and inspiring for both inmates and workers, as many testimonies of healing were given.

One of the prison wardens informed us that when the daily copy of The Christian Science Monitor is received, he takes it to read. At his request, another copy of the Monitor is being sent each day to the prison library. He expressed the wish that only papers of the type of the Monitor were sent into the prison.
