I am grateful with all my heart that our little family has, through God's clear guidance, found the way to Christian Science.

About four years ago I lost my position as a result of the depression. Grief, resentment, distress, and worry made me ill. I suffered from nervous insomnia. To this was added grippe, which also attacked my wife and child. In this extremity we had the good fortune to find a kind woman as housekeeper who we soon came to know was a Christian Scientist.

Shortly afterward I met the wife of a friend. She knew of my misfortune and my condition, and I knew that she was a student of Christian Science. "As long as you carry about in your heart this fog of grief, distress, and resentment, things can't get better with you," she lovingly explained to me, and called my attention to a forthcoming lecture on Christian Science. I attended that lecture, which so impressed me that I made up my mind to attend the following Wednesday testimony meeting. My wife read the printed lecture and accompanied me to the meeting.
