Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Relatively few items have appeared in the press which required correction. Yet it was necessary to keep careful watch, and refute occasional hostile references or remarks publicly and privately circulated, tending to create prejudice and false beliefs regarding our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

The following are some of the instances of healing and good accomplished through our radio programs:

A director of a radio station writes: "You will be interested to know that a seventy-three-year-old gentleman came into our office recently to chat with us about radio. During the course of the conversation he stated that he had always been opposed to radio, considering it an instrument of the devil. Now, he said, he had completely changed his mind, and was making this visit to us for the sole purpose of telling us so. When we asked him what had changed him, he surprised us with the statement that it was the First Church of Christ, Scientist, radio program 'which you folks broadcast from this station every Thursday evening.' " In concluding his letter the director of this station said, "Personally, we think this visit by this old gentleman was one of the greatest tributes ever accorded a radio program."
