I am grateful for Mrs. Eddy's spirituality and consecration...
I am grateful for Mrs. Eddy's spirituality and consecration to God; and grateful that she gave to the world the benefit of her discovery of the truth in her books, through establishing the periodicals, and providing for practitioners and teachers; also for her wisdom in protecting the Christian Science movement by means of the Manual of The Mother Church.
My parents were brought into Christian Science through the healing of my brother, who was apparently passing on from uremic poisoning. The family physician had done all he could do, so a Christian Science practitioner who had been recommended to us was called in. Fear was lovingly overcome, and the boy was brought back to consciousness; the trouble disappeared, and in less than a week he attended a pageant and went on a trip up the coast. He is now married and has two beautiful, healthy children.
Life has been demonstrated several times for loved ones. For about eight years after my birth, both my mother and I were afflicted by partial paralysis from the hips down. The practitioner noticed my mother's anxiety about my condition, also her idolatry of me, and told her to release me. She did so, as soon as she knew what was meant, and both of us were instantly freed. Since then, I have been able to swim, play tennis, and so forth.
