Christian Science means all to me
Christian Science means all to me. In 1917, I was instantaneously healed of a condition diagnosed by physicians as extreme nervous exhaustion, caused according to their theory by mental overwork. Finally they told me they could do nothing further and recommended my going to a sanitarium for an indefinite rest. This was financially impossible, and so I turned to a friend, a student of Christian Science, who took me to a practitioner, where I learned my first steps in this great truth. Later on, I diagnosed the physical disability as the effect of a false sense of personal responsibility. It was immediately destroyed when I realized that God is Mind, the only intelligence, and that man, as the perfect reflection of Mind, expresses accuracy and complete freedom; and when I learned to look to God, divine Love, Mind, for guidance, my work was done without any sense of anxiety. On page 454 of the textbook, Science and Health, the author, Mrs. Eddy, states: "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action." Also, on page 128, she writes: "A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms. It raises the thinker into his native air of insight and perspicacity."
During the years, I have had numerous helpful experiences, so that I am convinced that no condition can arise to deprive me of my at-one-ment with my Father-Mother, Love.
I am grateful to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, through whose inspiration and purity Truth has been revealed to this age, whereby erroneous circumstances can be overcome. I am truly grateful for class instruction, for membership in The Mother Church, and for the privilege of teaching in a Christian Science Sunday School.
