"The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord"

"God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies," writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 307 of "Miscellaneous Writings." This much-loved statement opens our eyes to the fact that "daily supplies" are to be found through spiritual thinking. And the supply of spiritual ideas from God to His children is available everywhere. Truly, as the Psalmist declared, "The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord," for spiritual ideas, when entertained, manifest themselves in abundant supply.

Early in our study of Christian Science we learn the futility of asking God for material things; for, primarily, it is not things that we need, but the ceaseless income of spiritual ideas. But since human sense is so mesmerized by the belief that supply is in matter—whereas, it is in ideas—and since this false belief is highly contributory to war, it is well to consider the truth about this subject, that we may pray aright at this time of the world's great need.

There is no imperfection or lack in the real universe, and the Science of God reveals to receptive thought the everpresence of limitless good. All God's children have all of good, by reflection—all that the Father has; and all have the divinely bestowed capacity to demonstrate limitless good through faithful obedience to Spirit, which is expressed in abundance.
