For nearly twenty-three years I have depended entirely...

For nearly twenty-three years I have depended entirely upon Christian Science to solve my problems. I am learning to know that "trials are proofs of God's care," as Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 66); and I am more able to anticipate their solution with joyous certainty and as a mark of progress.

One of my first healings came in one treatment for periodical fainting spells, which had been occurring over several years; other healings have been of influenza, weak arches, severe colds with loss of voice, and an ulcerated tooth.

One rainy morning I slipped on a winding marble stairway, striking and cutting my head on the sharp edge of the bottom step. This angel thought from Science and Health came to my rescue (p. 393): "Your body would suffer no more from tension or wounds than the trunk of a tree which you gash or the electric wire which you stretch, were it not for mortal mind." In a few minutes faintness and bleeding stopped, and I was able to do the work awaiting me. Afterwards I called on a friend to wash the matted hair, and she said that the cut had closed up perfectly.
