Your kindness in giving us an opportunity to offer some explanation in connection with a recent letter on Christian Science is very much appreciated, and I am glad to take advantage of it.

The writer contrasts the report of a Christian Science lecture recently printed in your paper with his "unprejudiced and more thorough study" of this teaching. Your correspondent arrives at different conclusions from the lecturer, who, as his audience knew, is a Christian Scientist. Formerly, the lecturer taught mechanics and electro-technics at one of the American universities, but he gave up this work to devote himself wholly to Christian Science.

I have asked myself why your correspondent's conclusions differ from ours, and why one who evidently means well by his fellow men should use such forceful language.
