In the five years that I have been a student of Christian Science, we have had many wonderful proofs of God's protection in our home. A recent healing was most outstanding, and I should like the privilege of sharing it with others.

In the summer of 1938 my two boys and I went to the country for a visit. Two days later my husband became seriously ill with what is commonly called "heat exhaustion." Conscientious friends, seeing his condition, wanted to call a doctor. He refused kindly, and decided to rely on Christian Science. He stopped on his way home to see a practitioner, and after talking with her for a while he was able to drive himself home. That night he seemed to be in quite a serious condition. But over and over the great truth that God is Life was declared and proved. The next morning he had improved to the extent that the fever had left him entirely. However, because he seemed unable to leave his bed, it was thought best to send for me. There was no possible means of communication, but the need was most lovingly met by a kind neighbor, who offered to drive down and get me, a distance of over two hundred miles. For several days error tried its best to scream, putting in one claim after another, among them dysentery and hemorrhage of the bowels, which left him in quite a weakened condition. However, through reliance on God alone, in less than a week he was able to return to his position. During this experience my husband, who is not a Scientist, was able to prove that strength is in Mind, not in the physical body. For the loving work of the practitioner, and for the love that was expressed by everyone around, we are most grateful.

For this healing and many others we are deeply grateful to God, good. I have had a most wonderful healing of what a specialist diagnosed as tuberculosis of one lung. This was a slow healing, but in making the demonstration I felt the need of greater study, greater consecration to the truth of being. Surely God made all that was made, "and, behold, it was very good." We have also had healings of neuralgia, coughs, colds, grief, infections, effects of dog bite, measles, whooping cough, boils, and many other ills too numerous to list here.
