Steadfast True Witnessing

A PERVERTED sense of right is accountable for many of the wrongs which human beings inflict upon themselves and one another. In Spirit and spiritual sense there is no perversion; there is vision. Christian Science, the law of God, infinite good, leads one away from the fog and friction of mortal mind into the abiding peace of spiritual understanding.

At a time when world news appears to be unusually complex and menacing, the Christian Scientist, of whatever nationality, redoubles the spiritual vigilance which safeguards him against the weakness and dismay of false witnessing. Refusing to follow the line of least resistance in thought or conversation, the true witness maintains positive spiritual thinking. He does not yield to supine deploring of evil practices, too evident to bear repetition. Neither does he give mental hospitality to vivid and beclouding criticism of peoples and situations, lest he make the false witnessing of others a pretext for his own. At all times his endeavor is to realize, for himself and his fellows, the all-enfolding perfection and peace of divine Love.

"A faithful witness will not lie." Steadfastly holding to the unique premise for right reasoning, namely, the one divine Mind, the Christian Scientist admits only true conclusions. Heeding Mrs. Eddy's warning (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 300), "Human logic is awry when it attempts to draw correct spiritual conclusions regarding life from matter," he sets himself to grasp the substantial, divine logic which puts to silence substanceless speculation.
