The Quiet Hour

Blessed is the quiet hour,
The hour in which my every thought
Is turned to contemplate God's power—
The works He wrought.

I spend this time when first the day
Awakes. Then, confidence all new,
I greet the given task and say,
This I can do.

I do not need to ask for more.
I listen to the voice which says,
Claim now your Father's countless store
Of promises.

These quiet moments closely bind
My life with His through simple prayer.
In reaching out to Him I find
My answer there.
