Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

In The Christian Science Monitor's Magazine Section for February 16, 1938, we had the pleasure of seeing a picture of the Belgian royal children with an article concerning their education. This Monitor was sent to the royal palace. Many interesting articles about Belgium appeared in the Monitor.

One day, a Christian Scientist passing the Librairie Populaire in Antwerp, saw in the showcase exhibiting the special books of the week, a Dutch translation of Lyman Powell's book, "Mary Baker Eddy: A Life Size Portrait." This book had been presented by an editor in Amsterdam to the Librairie Populaire. Shortly after, a French copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was offered to the same library by Christian Science Society, Antwerp. Recently we had the pleasure of hearing a Christian Science lecture delivered in French. This lecture was very well attended. People came from every part of our little country.

The services of the Christian Science churches in Riga are advertised every week in one Latvian and two German newspapers, the latter carrying also the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. It is perhaps of some interest to mention that one of these papers has carried the advertisements only since last spring, and that its editor did not seem inclined to advertise any services but those of the recognized churches; however, when the words "Christian Science" caught his attention, a kind smile was given us and our advertisement was accepted.
