On page 109 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes: "Christian Science reveals incontrovertibly that Mind is All-in-all, that the only realities are the divine Mind and idea. This great fact is not, however, seen to be supported by sensible evidence, until its divine Principle is demonstrated by healing the sick and thus proved absolute and divine."
I was not seeking a physical healing when I purchased the textbook, some eighteen years ago, but I was in need of something which would give me relief from discontent and unhappiness. From the beginning, and before I understood what I was reading, I found Science had a comforting effect. I began to demonstrate its divine Principle, and after several months I was completely healed of a violent temper. Soon there followed the healing of astigmatism and of the need for glasses.
These early proofs of Christian Science were convincing; and during all these years I have received blessings innumerable and remarkable physical healings. The ability to demonstrate through Christian Science a fuller and more useful life has filled me with a deep sense of gratitude. It was in the business world that I spent much time proving Christian Science. I cherish a lasting sense of gratitude for the valuable lessons learned there, the spiritual progress which these years have afforded, and the wide scope for presenting Science to many in need of it.
