A recent issue contains a report of a lecture in which the speaker is recorded as saying that the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is "the Bible of the Christian Scientists." While most of your readers know that this is not true, I think it well to state that the King James Version of the Bible is the Bible used in their services by Christian Scientists.

In 1909 Mrs. Eddy wrote a letter from which the following is quoted (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 143): "The Cause of Christian Science is prospering throughout the world and stands forever as an eternal and demonstrable Science, and I do not regard this attack on me as a trial, for when these things cease to bless they will cease to occur." In the years that have intervened, the number of Christian Science churches has greatly increased. The influence of its teachings continues to leaven the thought of mankind with the spirit of a practical Christianity. This is the result of the discernment of spiritual good; the realization that all things are possible to God.
