There Is No Place Where Love Is Not

There is no place where Love is not,
No night too dark, no hill too steep;
Its light shines softly on the way
Of those who faithful vigil keep.

No earthly joys that fade away,
No pain which blinds with scalding tear,
Can wound the heart that understands
In Love divine there is no fear.

The stones that bruise the weary feet,
The thorns that press the heart alone,
Are but the shadows of a dream,
For Love walks close beside its own.

There is no place where Love is not,
No room for darkness or despair;
O head bent low, look up, and see
How Love divine surrounds thee there.
