I have a great deal for which to thank Christian Science. Besides many physical healings, I am grateful for the knowledge I have gained of God and of His creation, including man.

I should like to tell of one healing. About eight years ago a rash appeared on my mouth. After a year I consulted a doctor, for the rash had grown steadily worse and had spread. I then learned that it was a particularly bad sort of sycosis. In spite of the careful and thorough treatment given me by the doctor there was no improvement; on the contrary, the eruption gradually spread. I became discouraged, finally gave up the medical treatment, and hoped that perhaps in the course of time the skin would heal of itself. After three years I saw that I had deceived myself. Meanwhile I moved to Hamburg and sought a specialist who was considered an authority in this field. I was under treatment for six months until the doctor told me that neither he nor any other doctor could help me, for the skin was destroyed. I was advised to give up shaving, and was told that there might be an improvement in the course of years, but that a complete healing was not possible.

After this verdict it came to me that Christian Science alone could help me. I then turned unreservedly and full of childlike trust to God, and through the loving help of a practitioner was so thoroughly healed that, within two days, the skin which according to the doctors had been destroyed, was restored. At the end of a year I was again able to shave myself regularly.
