I should like to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science...

I should like to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science and for all it has done for me.

Both my husband and I have had the opportunity of proving the truth as taught in Christian Science in a number of small instances, but I should like particularly to express gratitude for an experience we had prior to the birth of our baby boy, who is now two years old. I was having help from a Christian Science practitioner, and everything was entirely normal until about three weeks before our baby was expected, when the doctor who had been examining me found my blood pressure much higher than it should have been.

Not being satisfied, the doctor paid an additional visit a week later and found the blood pressure was still increasing. The practitioner was, of course, informed and he continued to work. The next morning my husband visited the doctor, and it was decided that I should see a specialist to determine if, in his opinion, it was necessary to go into hospital. After examination, the specialist stated he did not think I need go into hospital, at any rate for the time being. The specialist told my husband that the trouble was toxemia, in which case there was, in addition to the fear of the loss of the child, the possibility of the loss of the mother, due to eclampsia.
