Words alone fail to express the gratitude and love that I feel in my heart for Christian Science. I did not take up this study for healing, although I needed healing very much indeed, but for the perfect explanation it gave me of the Bible, which I had always loved, but had not understood.

After reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for a short while, and delighting in the chapter on Prayer, I found that I was free from rheumatism, from which I had suffered since I was a child of three. The pain, which had made any game, needlework, or painting very difficult—almost impossible at times—had completely left me. Several doctors and two masseuses had tried to help in previous years, but the trouble always returned until I was healed by Christian Science, fourteen years ago. Another healing that took place about this time was that of an internal tumor, which three specialists had said would require either special treatment or an operation. The physical difficulty occasioned by this tumor became less acute, and the trouble eventually passed away. I am grateful for the study the healing of this ailment necessitated.

To those suffering from sleeplessness, I should like to mention my experience. Ever since a very early age I had slept badly, and, finally, rested well only after taking bromide. When I did not take this, I slept only about four hours during the night and awoke feeling unrefreshed and unable to cope with what was before me during the day. This has entirely altered. I now sleep well and restfully, and am quite refreshed in the morning.
