Christian Science is associated in the minds of many...
Mutual Magazine
Christian Science is associated in the minds of many people with spiritual healing, and it is generally recognized that remarkable results are achieved through the understanding of its teachings. Moreover, the healing is not confined to that of functional difficulties, but includes organic diseases of all descriptions, and the overcoming of the most insidious forms of sin. It is correct to say that the healing of sin is the principal mission of Christian Science; and it is thus in line with the teachings of Christ Jesus, who not only healed the sick, but regenerated the sinner.
Christian Science is no mere human opinion or personal doctrine. Reaching out to God, Mrs. Eddy discovered spiritual verities, which for centuries had been unnoticed and unacknowledged. The result of her revelation is to be found in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and in her other writings. Christian Scientists revere Mrs. Eddy because she was the Discoverer and Founder of a religion which they have found both practical and complete.
The term "God," as understood in Christian Science, is clearly defined in the Christian Science textbook in the following manner (Science and Health, p. 465): "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love."
