TOPIC: THE TURN TOWARDS RELIGION

[From the Standard, Sumner, Washington]

On Tuesday we witnessed a most unusual thing, a breakfast group listening to a high official testifying to the needs and benefits of taking God into his daily duties. In fact, for three consecutive Tuesdays we have contacted high state officials, judges, mayors, lawyers, legislators, and eminent laymen in voluntary assembly to study Holy Writ and endeavoring to learn how to use it as it is intended to be used. Strangely enough there are few, if any, church members; nevertheless they qualify as Christians and the theme song of the meetings bespeaks the need of having Christ as a silent partner individually, collectively, and legislatively. This idea is growing and is having a beneficent influence on the present legislature, strange as it seems. It portends there's a better day ahead, beyond a doubt.
