Lecturer: John Henry Weer; introduced by Mrs. Cornelia van der Laag, who said:—

You remember, no doubt, the story of the spies whom Moses sent out, and how they were told to bring back some of the fruits of the promised land. The Bible tells us that the spies brought back with them a branch with a single cluster of grapes so large that two men had to carry the branch between them on a staff, and they reported that the land flowed "with milk and honey."
