"Be ready always to give an answer to every man that...
"Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." I have found my answer in Christian Science. That I may express my great gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and with the hope that someone may be helped by this testimony, as I have been helped by so many, I wish to relate a few of the many blessings which have come to me through the study of Christian Science. One great blessing is that the Bible has become a beloved companion; another is that I have been freed from bondage to material remedies. Each day I desire to rely more upon God. For eighteen years Christian Science has abundantly met all my needs.
A number of years before I became a student of Christian Science I had an instantaneous healing, but being rather self-confident and endowed with material things, I did not awaken to my need of God. At that time I thought I was very happy, but there was always an undercurrent of fear that something might happen. Now I have found real happiness, for I have the assurance that God is always at hand to guide me.
I took up the study of Christian Science, not for physical healing, but to please one who had become very dear to me. How grateful I was for that first healing, because I began to study, knowing that Christian Science heals. I longed to learn about God. In a short time I realized that several mistaken thoughts which I had had about my body had been corrected, and that the evidence of them had disappeared. I was no longer afflicted with colds, sore throat, indigestion, constipation, and an eruption of the skin which I had attributed to intense exposure to the sun. A few years later, however, the last-mentioned disturbance reappeared, but it was healed through Christian Science in a few days, and has never recurred. Previously, several weeks' treatment with material means had been necessary before relief was experienced.
