The Joy of Dominion

[Written Especially for Young People]

A young student of Christian Science, keenly interested in such useful inventions as motor cars and aeroplanes, one morning remarked to his Sunday school teacher: "It is so much easier for older people to practice Christian Science. We who are young find such pleasure in material things; they seem so real to us."

Christian Science—the truth about God and man—is easy for all to practice, irrespective of age. For does not our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tell us on page 475 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," that man "reflects spiritually all that belongs to his Maker"? This reflection includes the natural expression of intelligence, wisdom, health, and harmony. And through this reflection, the joy of dominion becomes a positive fact in everyday life.

It is not wrong then for young people, or others, to find much pleasure in expressing this dominion whilst engaging in interesting occupations or pastimes. The joy of every right human duty or pleasure is immeasurably enhanced by the knowledge that we are all given the ability to prove the power of right thinking to solve every problem, to overcome every material restriction or limitation.
